March 17th marks a global celebration of Irish culture – St. Patrick’s Day.  What’s even better about St. Patrick’s Day this year is that it falls on a Saturday.  Not only does this means we have all day and night to enjoy with the rest of the world, but we also have the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, which includes Friday night.

Being in New Orleans, we already know how to handle our weekends, but what do we do during the day while at work?  Here we’ll list a few things your company can do to get festive for St. Patrick’s Day.

Host a “Lucky” Contest for your customers
Think outside the box here.  Offer something you typically don’t but offer something people would consider “lucky” like a bottle of rare Irish whiskey.

Go GREEN
To truly go green use less energy and turn the faucets off.  Come up with innovative products that use less plastic or are recyclable. Reuse office supplies like paper clips, ask yourself if you need to print something or if you should view it digitally.

Plan an office party Friday evening
Of course, St. Patrick’s Day includes wearing green. Also, preparing a traditional St. Patrick’s Day dish can be fun. Some common Irish meals that are very popular are corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie or Irish soda bread. Hosting an Irish-focused trivia contest or karaoke can be a fun way to get your office involved and can also function as a team-building exercise.  Whatever your company decides to do, let’s celebrate in the name St. Patrick.
